Engagement ceremony is the next step towards getting married.Here the family and friends gather to give blessings to the newly engaged couple.generally it includes a simple Ring ceremony in which the bride and groom exchanges rings (generally gold.. but you can opt for diamond ring also ,if you like).These rings are the sign of love and trust between the Bride and Groom.Take a look at these

  The bride is given gifts from her to be Mother-in-law like dry fruits,jewelry and clothes ,some of us may know it as shagun.The groom appears in a tilak ceremony where her mother-in-law tilaks him and he too is gifted by cash,accessories( may be watch or pendent.)

Roka Ceremony

Roka is a pre-wedding ceremony in which the family relation is fixed.during this ceremony the family members of bride and groom gather and exchange gifts with each other.it is not much complicated only a simple tika ceremony on bride and groom's forehead.
 Bride and groom are blessed with gifts.Bride is gifted red chunri and jewellery and groom is also gifted with clothes and cash.The family members gift each other dry fruits,fruits basket,etc.
 Traditionally,this ceremony is held at bride's house.

Tips for  dressing

 Groom

Be simple .don't experiment with hair

 and mustaches.you can take a

 sherwani as your dress or a shirt and

 trouser.

 

 

Bride

 Be simple ,no need to wear heavy 

dress.you can wear a anarkali suit
  or a simple saree.keep hair simple

 and wear jewellery matching with 

your dress.do light make up.
